About Us Faculty and Staff Education Research Clinical Services

Clinical Services:  Movement Disoders

The expanding Division of Movement Disorders offers broad expertise in adult and pediatric movement disorders.  Botox injections for dystonia and spasticity (blepharospasm, cervical dystonia, writer's cramps, musician's dystonia and other upper and lower limb dystonia and spasticity) are performed in weekly Botox clinics.  The Movement Disorder faculty work closely with Dr. Kathryn Holloway in the Department of Neurosurgery to provide electrophysiological monitoring of deep brain stimulation surgery for Parkinson's disease, dystonia, tardive dyskinesias, Tourette's, and other movement disorders, and provide follow-up care for post-surgical DBS stimulator and medication adjustments.  The Movement Disorders faculty also have clinical and research relations with the Southeast Parkinson's Disease, Research, Education, and Clinical Center (PADRECC) at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center.
